Player of the Week
Darien (Conn.) Attack Unit
There is no way to pick just one player from the Blue Wave this week, so it’s a team win. The Blue Wave unit of junior Hudson Pokorny and seniors Brian Minicus and Logan McGovern totaled 18 goals and 11 assists in two games last week. The wins extended Darien’s nation-best winning streak to 57 games.
Pokorny, Minicus, and McGovern helped the Blue Wave to a 14–4 win over nationally-ranked Torrey Pines (Calif.) on April 6. Pokorny scored four goals and an assist. Minicus scored four and one and McGovern had four assists and two goals.
The trio combined for eight goals and five assists earlier in the week in a 22–0 win over Westhill (Conn.). Pokorny and Minicus each scored three goals. McGovern dished out five assists and scored two goals in the victory.
