Tim Rotanz was a three-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American while at Shoreham-Wading River (Shoreham, N.Y.). He earned a spot on the varsity team while in 8th grade and totaled 450 points in his career. He helped the Wildcats to three consecutive New York Class C championships and was named the MVP of the 2012 title-winning team after scoring five goals and adding two assists in a 10-6 win over Penn Yan (Penn Yan, New York).
Rotanz was chosen as a 2013 Under Armour All-American after his senior year and totaled five points on four goals and one assists for the North team. At Maryland, Inside Lacrosse ranked Rotanz as the No. 2 freshman attackman in the nation.
