It was a big weekend for goalies as five netminders earned a spot on the most saves in a single game list. Three of those goalies are from New Jersey as the Garden State got its season underway last week. In the total opposite of defense, Kamiak (Wash.) put itself on top of the most goals in a game list and tied the best known record on Saturday.
As boys’ high school lacrosse players, teams and coaches earn a spot, and are reported, on our 2015 Best Known Lacrosse Performances list, LaxRecords.com posts a daily recap acknowledging the performance.
There are multiple ways to submit a performance for inclusion on our Best Known Performances list. You can use one of our submission forms (links below), which is the easiest way. Or you can email Mike Loveday at email@example.com.
With 14 assists and eight goals in his first two games of 2015, senior Louis Dubick of Winston Churchill (Md.) has broken the career points record for Maryland of 380, previously held by Mikey Wynne from St. Paul’s. The University of Maryland recruit has a career total of 197 goals and 189 assists two games into his senior season, as is chasing the career totals of 241 goals and 232 assists as well.
All good things come in threes, and Kamiak (Wash.) attackman Ben Barton totaled 10 points on five goals and five assists in the victory.
Kamiak (Wash.) took over the season lead for the most goals scored in a single game when they scored 33 in a 33-2 win over Archbishop Murphy (Wash.) on Saturday. The 33 goals tie the record for most goals (in recent years*) in a single game. West Genesee (N.Y.) in 2011, Silver Creek (N.Y.) in 2012 and St. Xavier (Ky.) in 2014 all scored 33 goals in a victory.
*I am still researching the most goals scored by a team in a single game. If you have any information or leads please email me at mloveday (at) laxrecords.com.
